For those of you who want the same font rendering in the screen shot, get GDI++ from here

GDI++ ONLY WORKS FOR 32-BIT PROGRAMS. SO IF YOU'RE RUNNING 64-BIT WINDOWS XP, VISTA, OR 7, IT WILL MOST LIKELY NOT WORK FOR YOU.

If this link doesnt work for you, send me a note, and I'll try to help you out.

Hey Mango! Thanks a lot for this! I am having a problem, though. When I recycle LS through the right-click menu, the "START" portion of the taskbar disappears. If I click where that portion usually is, it still brings up the menu. Please help! PS - If I log out and back in the portion re-appears.

I love this skin... it was my favourite back when I was still using xp but now that I've upgraded to w7 the infopane won't show when I right click on the clock and the programs list & quicklaunch list seem to have disappeared... any ideas?

maybe it's because I'm not running the latest version of litestep? I had heard of it being unstable in w7 so I followed Aaron-A-Arts' advice: [link]

I think there are some issues with the theme (wasn't coded with Windows 7 in mind).

I'll look into this and get back to you soon.

First off, love the theme! the colors are perfect for what i want. One question though, is it possible to remove the dock? I use rocketdock, and i would prefer to use that over the one you provided.
I am a complete newb with Litestep so forgive me if i dont have a clue on how any of this works...

I have some problems, I'll list them :XD:

1. Bottom toolbar is not transparent, it has black all behind it on my screen.
2. The black crack under the Start text & icon is not there.

I really want this theme to work, I like it.
I hope you can help, it's okay if you cant.

Cheers. :)

Ah, I see. It sounds like there is a problem with my code (I think I know what is wrong). Let me check and get back to you.

Thanks for letting me know about this!

(the issue is that transparency in windows vista/7 does not work correctly in litestep because of the jDesk module. You can update the jDesk module to 0.75 but the 0.75 is buggy for some people. Or, you can change around the code to make it work. I will see if I can change the code to make it work).

That would be awesome if you can do that, I want to use this badly.
also, is the bottom toolbar slider thing a module? or can it only be used with this theme?
and can I add more applications to the slider and change the icons and what not?

Cheers. :la:

No, unfortunately the bottom toolbar is static :( - litestep doesn't have a dock module for it (or atleast one that I know of).

You will need to install litestep from lsdev: [link]

I recommend getting the latest version of LOSI. If you have Windows 7 x64 you will need the experimental 0.25-alpha executables as well (both are available at that link).

how might one go about changing those dock links in the shortcuts menu and the icons, or removing the dock alltogether? i can probably figure out the details myself, but knowing where to look would be a good start. awesome theme, i absolutely love it. i just wish i got more use out of the dock. great work!

Sorry I have been so delinquent in getting back to you - the source files for the theme are located in the themes folder of litestep (accessible from the popup via Litestep > Themes Folder).

In the themes folder, there should be a folder called "Zebra" or "ZebraLS" something like that. The theme.rc file has the source files for the theme.

The dock is actually just a series of labels painted on the screen that are defined in the theme.rc file. Opening the theme.rc file with notepad, you should find some lines that say something along the lines of:

dockIconOnLeftClick $Browser$

(I forget what the exact lines are, but they should be called browserIcon or something to that effect).

The dockIcon part refers to the painted label or icon and the OnLeftClick tells the computer that it should execute $Browser$ when it hears a left click on the label.

Changing the $Browser$ value to something like "C:\\Documents\myProgram.exe" would cause myProgram.exe to be executed when the label is clicked.

You can remove the dock by deleting the lines of code in the dock section of the theme.rc file.

Hope this helps!

No worries! You will need the Litestep program in order to run this theme. You can download Litestep at ls-dev.org (get the latest LOSI build) :)

Yeah, Litestep has problems for Win7 users like us :(. The development team hasn't made any definitive builds of the program that take advantage of the new features in Win7 (like wallpaper changing, task stacking, aero peek, and so on). Thus my love-hate relationship with Litestep (love the fact that it lets me change all the little details, hate the fact that its not fully compatible) :(. I'm afraid that until someone updates the litestep core and modules to support all the features of Win7, we will have to just wait :eager:

Two things,

1. The start button and the dock icons don't immediately show up, it's like they're invisible (I can still click on them, but they images aren't loading or something).
2. How do I change the taskbar's size so that it allows more than 4 windows before crowding up the clock space?

I've updated xpaintclass, using the latest Litestep Alpha build, and on Windows 7. Seeing that I'm like the only one with this problem, can you let me know what litestep version you're using, and if you updated/changed any particular modules?

The taskbar's size can be changed by adjusting the xTaskbarWidth or xTaskbarBorders properties (the taskbar needs to be extended to the right, I believe. The "icons only" mode also takes up less space for smaller screens. With Win7 there are some issues with transparency support, which I believe is causing the dock icons to not appear. I've actually stopped using litestep after moving to Win7 because of all the issues associated with it. Hope this helps --
